Please read these terms and conditions described immediately below as you apply for the GovStack Women in GovTech Challenge 2023-2024.
We may make changes to the Agreements at any time but will alert you that we are doing so by giving notice via the (Include link here) and email in case of applicants.
Scope of GovStack Women in GovTech Challenge 2023-2024
The program will cover:
- Technical Skills – the building block approach to create digital services, manage agile teams, and more
- Soft Skills – communicate effectively, teamwork, critical thinking, and more
- Career Management – people management, decision-making, and more
At the end of the Challenge, participants will:
- have a thorough understanding of the GovStack building block approach;
- implement a digital government service in their country;
- access to GovStack and complementary Coursera content on Atingi;
- receive university credits upon completion of Coursera courses;
- have opportunities to showcase digital services in international fora, like WSIS 2024; and,
- join an active community of empowered women digital leaders.
Eligibility criteria
- Women working in government digital teams in roles such as solution architects, developers, service designers, regtech, and cybersecurity specialists, among other GovTech domains
- Identify a government service that can become a digital service using the GovStack building block approach
- Comfortable in English
- Stable internet connection
- Available to participate in 1 hour of group activities with peers and mentors, 4-6 hours of self-paced course work per week during the training period
Application Guidelines
- All applications to participate in the GovStack Women in GovTech Challenge 2023-2024 will be accepted through the following webpage: https://www.govstack.global/womeningovtech/
- Applicants will be required to submit the following information:
- First and Last name
- Email address, that they can be contacted through
- LinkedIn Profile
- Current job title
- Their organization
- Languages they are comfortable in (With the following options):
- English (Required for participation)
- French
- Spanish
- Portuguese
- German
- Arabic
- Any other
- Their Curriculum Vitae (optional)
- Their experience in using reusable interoperable software components, also known as Building Blocks.
- Applications will be accepted until the 31st of August 2023 23:59 CET.
Selection of participants and notification of selection
- All applications submitted on or before the 31st of August 2023 23:59 CET will be considered.
- The submitted applications will be reviewed by a panel of GovStack partners.
- The selected participants will be contacted through the email they provide as part of their application on or before the 31st of October 2023.
Access to educational content
- Participants will be granted access to the educational materials through Atingi (https://www.atingi.org/).
- Participants will have access to weekly webinars/interactive sessions for group activities with peers and mentors.
- Course materials offered by Coursera will be free of cost and subject to Coursera Terms and Conditions.
Participation requirements
- Participants are responsible for completing all requirements, including but not limited to reading materials, watching videos, completing quizzes, participating in assignments and webinars/interactions.
- Participants are required to curate, analyze and utilize all requirements, including but not limited to regulations, insights on user needs, the current state of service (if applicable) to enable them to transform a government service (as mentioned in point 2, Eligibility criteria) into a digital service as part of this challenge.
- Participants will apply the GovStack Approach to service design and functional prototyping to implement a digital service.
- Implementation of the digital service will be on the country’s infrastructure.
Communication
- By applying for the GovStack Women in GovTech Challenge 2023-2024, the applicant consents to be contacted regarding their selection.
- The GovStack team will communicate with participants via email and/or virtual group meetings.
- Participants are expected to check their email regularly and participate in online discussions.
Assessment of service design project & functional prototype
- Digital service will be assessed based on its implementation using the GovStack approach (service design based on user needs, journeys and life events; service implementation based on reusable, interoperable software components.)
- The assessment will be carried out by the mentors and GovStack partners.
